Psychopathology – Summer 2008 – Daytona
Case Assignments and Work Groups
Application of knowledge of psychopathology and the ability to think carefully and critically are central to clinical social work. The ability to work with treatment teams in determining a diagnosis and treatment plan is also central to clinical social work.
I have assigned all class members to one of seven workgroups. I did this alphabetically because, in practice, you do not get to choose who is on a treatment team with you. The course schedule has cases assigned to each work group with a due date for posting the final product to the wiki. The final product is to be a cooperative effort with all group members participating equally. To ensure participation, each group member will be asked to grade the other members of their group at the end of each assignment. This should be e-mailed to me (jallgood@mail.ucf.edu). These grades will be averaged over the assignments and will be 15% of each person’s final grade.
The wiki folder assigned to each group can serve as the place you each contribute and work through coming to a consensus on the final product. This eliminates many of the obstacles students have in working as a group. Within the wiki folder, you can create pages as needed. For those of you who may not be as experienced with a wiki as others, please seek out classmates willing to help guide you through.
I will be assigning grades to the final product that will serve as the individual group member’s grade for that assignment. The grades will be averaged over the semester and will be 25 % of each person’s final grade.
