Week 1 – Introduction, Basics of Assessment – In the classroom – May 13

Read chapters 1 thru 4 in Pomeroy and Wambach. Begin reading and commenting on The Lives They Left Behind. Recommended that you review the DSM-IV-TR that corresponds to these disorders.
Work Group 1: Using the wiki page established for your work group, work together to answer the questions asked by P&W about cases 2.1 and 3.1. Use the page to come to a consensus regarding the answers and then present one set of answers for each case. Have the final set of answers posted to the wiki by 11pm, Sunday, May 25th.
Work Group 2: Using the directions for Group 1, do the same for case 2.2 and 2.3.
Work Group 3: Cases 2.3 and 3.3.
Work Group 4: Cases 2.4 and 4.1.
Work Group 5: Cases 2.5 and 4.2.
Work Group 6: Cases 2.7 and 4.3.
Work Group 7: Cases 2.8 and 4.5.
Week 3 – Discussion of cases and lecture on chapters 1 – 4. Test over chapters 1 thru 4 at the beginning of class. In the classroom – May 27th.

Read chapters 5 – 7 in Pomeroy and Wambach. Recommend you review these areas in the DSM-IV-TR as well.

· Work Group 3: Cases 6.1 and 7.3.

Week 5 – Discussion of cases and lecture on chapters 5 – 7. Test over chapters 5 thru 7 at the beginning of class. In the classroom – June 10th.
Week 6 – Somatoform and Factitious Disorders; Dissociative Disorders – On the Web
Read chapters 8 and 9 in Pomeroy and Wambach. Review these areas in the DSM-IV-TR as well.

If you have not already submitted your topic for your research paper, please e-mail it to me by June 22nd. If you are taking Dr. Lawrence’s medications class, you can use the same topic for both papers, but the papers cannot be the same. Yes, we do check in with each other to ensure the papers are not the same.
Week 7 – Discussion of cases and lecture over chapters 8 and 9. Test over 8 and 9 at the beginning of the class. In the classroom – June 24th.
Weeks 8 and 9 – On the Web.
Read chapters 10 thru 13 in Pomeroy and Wambach and finish the book, The Lives They Left Behind. I’m not assigning any cases for these chapters, but they will be covered on the final test. Please use these weeks to research and write your paper.
Week 10 – Personality Disorders and Adjustment Disorders – On the Web.
Read chapters 14 and 15 in Pomeroy and Wambach. Review relevant material in the DSM-IV-TR as well.
· Work Group 1: Do cases 15.3 and 16.6. Post to the wiki by 11pm, Sunday, July 27th.
· Work Group 2: Cases 15.2 and 16.3.
· Work Group 3: Cases 15.1 and 15.5.
· Work Group 4: Cases 14.3 and 15.4.
· Work Group 5: Cases 14.2 and 16.4.
· Work Group 6: Cases 14.1 and 16.5.
· Work Group 7: Cases 14.4 and 16.1.
Week 11 – Discussion of cases and lecture over chapters 14 and 15. Test over chapters 10 – 15 at the beginning of class. In the classroom – July 29th.
